the url pointing to x11 project show plenty of useful documentation but saddly those documents aren't easy access from gentoo main website. except from there http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/x/x11/xorg-server-1.6-upgrade-guide.xml (from documentation/upgrade guide) most users might don't know or see they could just get help with many ressource and useful documents the x11 projects guys have made, like upgrade guide for xorg from 1.5 upto 1.10 i'm not sure if xorg project guys wants to keep them as-is, a bit hidden while they finish them, but at least for xorg guides, it looks all correct and usable, and for me, finished docs. So why not pointing to the directory or at least adding url to each documents from documentation/upgrade guide from gentoo website ? Reproducible: Always
impressive delays to update an url link !

The documents aren't easily accessible from the gentoo main site? Where should we have a link to them that we don't? I think you forgot to give this information, and thus no one has bothered to try to figure out what you're saying.
Well, from that page http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/?catid=upgrade You will be able to access the 1.6 Xorg upgrade guide. Following it (so in the xorg1.6 upgrade guide itself) you aren't able to goes to other docs (so you can't see xorg have many others upgrade guide). So, as i said, the url should point to http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/x/x11/ so people will have a chance to see many others useful docs exist. Someone took the right step with http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/x/x11/xorg-server-1.10-upgrade-guide.xml by putting a link to the project page that will exactly do what i was asking. But how would you access that 1.10 upgrade guide at first ? Another example, you can access migrating to modular X howto from http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/?catid=upgrade but no link exist in it to access others docs... again, you are then tied to the http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/?catid=upgrade page, and this one doesn't gave link to http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/x/x11/xorg-server-1.10-upgrade-guide.xml Is it clearer now?
(In reply to comment #4) > Well, from that page > http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/?catid=upgrade > > Is it clearer now? Now that we have a link to what you talking about, yes. :) I've updated a lot of fields to clarify so that the doc team will know what to do.
There you go, documentation overview now contains the other xorg upgrade guides, the libxcb upgrade guide and ati migration guide as well. It's in CVS, so takes about one hour to reach the main site. I can't refer to the project page itself though.
