After emerging a gdesklet display, the *.display file is treated as an XML file by nautilus. I think that this is caused by /etc/gnome-vfs-mime-magic matching the content of the file to xml. It's still possible to run the display from the command line, but Nautilus integration would be nice. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Emerge gdesklet-core 2. Emerge x11-plugins/display-* 3. Using nautilus, browse to /usr/share/gdesklet/Display/xxx. The *.display files, when clicked, are recognized as xml by nautilus. Actual Results: The *.display files, when clicked, are recognized as xml by nautilus. Expected Results: If the gdesklet daemon is running, then the display should by activated.
Yep, I've run into this before, and manually 'fixed' /etc/gnome-vfs-mime-magic. I have an idea for how to fix it globally, alter gnome-vfs-mime-magic and etc-update, but I'll need to discuss that with the rest of the gnome team first.
Not really an issue anymore with the gdesklets shell.
