I am using XFCE with a few KDE apps mixed in.
Recently I ran into a conflict of packages net-libs/glib-networking and kde-base/kdelibs that seemed odd to me.

In /usr/portage/kde-base/kdelibs/ChangeLog I found:

  04 May 2011; Andreas K. Huettel <dilfridge@gentoo.org>
  kdelibs-4.6.2-r3.ebuild:
  Add blocker for net-libs/glib-networking to work around bug 365637; the
  exact problem is still unclear.

It seems that my system is working just fine with these two packages installed in parallel.  To me removing either package is a problem, because both of theses are needed as dependencies of other stuff.

Therfore, I would like to request a different solution than a blocker.  Thanks.

You can add yourself to the list of people already complaining in bug 365479.
