Description Plopmaster 2011-05-06 09:55:25 UTC
mount -a gives segfault if such a line is present in fstab :
tmpd /tmp tmpfs

Note the lack of options on the line.

Fix : giving a size
tmpd /tmp tmpfs size=512M

As mount -a is used in /etc/init.d/localmount, system half boot : you can still log

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put such a line in fstab : tmpd /tmp tmpfs
2. Type mount -a
Actual Results:
System half boot

Expected Results:
mount -a does not segfault :)
Comment 1 nobody 2011-05-21 22:51:59 UTC
confirm failure also for me

offending line was
/dev/disk/by-label/belegHOME /home ext3

fix it by adding atime
/dev/disk/by-label/belegHOME /home ext3 atime 0 0

just to add so, 1/ it segfault for me on strstr function 2/ it don't stop my system booting (as only my /home was affect) 3/ fix work (adding an option to the line)

this one might be a dup :

was working ok with 2.19

maybe block :

add emerge --info

<-- forget that, wrong bug sorry
Comment 3 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2011-05-28 16:16:29 UTC
i dont think so. the bug was in `mount`, and `mount.cifs` doesnt execute that.
