Description renewed_unfold356 2003-12-27 10:36:28 UTC
When using MozillaFirebird from the mozilla-firebird-cvs ebuild and visiting a site requiring a password the browser prompts to save the passwords twice.
This does not happen when using the official pre-compiled nightly binaries from mozilla.org.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge mozilla-firebird-cvs
2. Launch MozillaFirebird
3. Go to a site where you can log in with a username/password
4. MozillaFirebird prompts to save username/password
5. Click yes or no
6. MozillaFirebird prompts to save username/password again
Actual Results:
MozillaFirebird prompts twice to save username/password

Expected Results:
MozillaFirebird should only prompt to save the username/password once

this also happens with 0.7-r1, although it doesnt happen to me on every site iirc ...

It's actually prompting first to save the username, and then to save the password. I'm not too sure this is a good idea, or why on earth it's happening. I haven't yet seen the same behaviour with the mozilla-firefox-cvs ebuild available on breakmygentoo.net, and it should be noted that the mozilla-firebird-cvs ebuild in portage is effectively unmaintained, but I'm not sure that this has been fixed. You might want to try this.

firebird-cvs no longer in portage
