kde-base/kdm-4.6.1 is failing to let a normal user log into the KDE environment, when dbus, hal and other daemons are properly running. There is no error message displayed to the user and only a cryptic message logged to the kdm.log file. After correct input of access credentials, it returns back to kdm after a black screen. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start policykit/consolekit, dbus, hal and kdm. 2. Attempt to login as a normal user (with plugdev, disk, etc extra groups) through KDM. 3. I have the same problem even after re emerging dbus kdm kdelibs polkit and consolekit. Somethings in my kdm.log. Sometimes I can get to log in finally but everything takes forever to finally work.
