Description Andrew Glen-Young 2003-12-18 04:48:29 UTC
Please find attached Mail-IMAPClient-2.2.9 ebuild for perl module.

Mail-IMAPClient is a perl module for handling IMAP accounts. I do not have a large amount of experience with building ebuilds. This is a modified version of the dev-perl/POP3Client ebuild.

Thanks,
Andrew

Mail-IMAPClient-2.2.9 ebuild

Builds on IA32. Haven't got anything else to test on. Works for me(TM) status
;)

The policy on perl modules in Gentoo is that they are only specifically included in the portage tree if they are a dependency of an app or they provide utilities. If that is not the case, g-cpan.pl should be used for installation instead.

Does this ebuild fill a dependency of something already in portage?

Closing for now. Please reopen if this is / becomes a dependency of something else. See previous comment.

No it does not!

Sorry for bothering you. I've been using Gentoo since 1.2 and I never realised g-cpan.pl existed, I've been creating ebuilds of my commonly used Perl modules in my portage overlay tree for quite some time now. Is this documented someplace where I have missed it?

Sorry again!

No bother at all. The documenation for g-cpan is a little thin at the moment. Hopefully this will be corrected sooner rather than later.
