If this is the new Gentoo standard then I appologise in advance. I have tried to look through the Gentoo site to see if there was a standard but was unable to find one in advance. I would expect that during emerge/install the Kile.desktop file should be copied to somewhere in the /usr/share/applnk directory tree were it seems all the other installed apps put their *.desktop files. The Kile emerge puts its *.desktop file in /usr/share/applications/kde where the KDE menu or the KAppFinder cannot find it. To add Kile to the KDE menu the Kile.desktop file has to be copied to the /usr/share/applnk directory tree. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge kile Actual Results: Please see details above. Expected Results: Please see details above.
/usr/share/applications/kde is correct and will be supported by kde 3.2
Understood - Thanks
