You are receiving this bug because the package is showing up in: http://tinderbox.dev.gentoo.org/misc/rindex/sys-apps/hal As HAL is obsolete, please investigate the possibility of removing the depend from vmware-server's ebuild.
I've add new revision of vmware-server ebuild without hal to vmware overlay for testing.
