Description Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-03-14 19:28:22 UTC
You are receiving this bug because the package is showing up in:

http://tinderbox.dev.gentoo.org/misc/rindex/sys-apps/hal

As HAL is obsolete, please investigate the possibility of removing the depend from vmware-server's ebuild.

I've add new revision of vmware-server ebuild without hal to vmware overlay for testing.

current 2.0.2.203138-r4 have remove the hald depend from /etc/init.d/vmware,

although it looks like starting well in start up script,
but the actual result is vmware won't start at all,

I have to manual start hald again
