Description Juan Hernandez-Diaz 2011-03-10 16:16:17 UTC
The process of recompilation of gcc-4.4.5 fails to enable the new 'USE ' (objc++ objc gcj), the system is a new installation within 48 hours and this would be the first execution of 'emerge-NDuav world'

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Enable USE objc++ objc gcj in GCC
2.emerge -NDuav world
3.
Actual Results:

I've tried the solution suggested in the forum http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-6599579.html?sid=55cd5f42e785880fad09ec7d351473f0 and running fix_libtool_files.sh. Without any success so far.
Comment 3 matt black 2011-03-10 19:12:21 UTC
It is probably because you do not have IA32 emulation enabled in your kernel. Check it as follows:

# zgrep -i ia32 /proc/config.gz
CONFIG_IA32_EMULATION=y
CONFIG_IA32_AOUT=y

# grep -i ia32 /usr/src/linux/.config
CONFIG_IA32_EMULATION=y
CONFIG_IA32_AOUT=y

Sorry about the last comment. I executed the commands you sent me to check the IA32 support in the kernel. The output of the two commands is:

zgrep -i ia32 /proc/config.gz
CONFIG_IA32_EMULATION=y
CONFIG_IA32_AOUT=y

grep -i ia32 /usr/src/linux/.config
CONFIG_IA32_EMULATION=y
CONFIG_IA32_AOUT=y

Any chance you were hit by the recent glibc eclass problem (bug 358143) ?
