Description MarisN 2011-02-27 11:50:35 UTC
After installing app-office/libreoffice-bin-3.3.1 only en_US spellcheck dictionary was available in LO. Still my system also has app-dicts/myspell-lv-0.9.3 OOo 3.2.x was using systems myspell just fine.

Issue was fixed by ln -s /usr/share/myspell /usr/share/hunspell and then restarting LO.

Reproducible: Always

Well - actually libreoffice-bin doesn't claim to use the myspell dictionaries from system ;-) Instead atm we use the dictionaries delivered with the upstream packages, so if you have the LINGUAS variables set right, you will get the corresponding dicts.

But I agree that using the system myspell dictionaries on disk would be the better long term solution. So either we could do symlinks (which would be three by the way, you've missed hyphenation and thesaurus), or use our own builds for libreoffice-bin...

I never quite understood why libreoffice and openoffice do use myspell whereas libreoffice-bin and openoffice-bin don't. If it's just a symlink issue then it would be nice to have that fixed.

What are the two other symlinks? /usr/share/myspell seems to contain the hyphenation and the thesaurus files.

Fixed in 3.4.3.2-r1.
