Version 1.3.5 of Mathmap, an image processing application, has been released. http://www.complang.tuwien.ac.at/schani/mathmap/ There is an ebuild for mathmap-1.3.2 in the ikelos overlay, but it doesn't work for 1.3.5. Here is the build log: http://pastebin.com/AyYTB58n A functioning ebuild for 1.3.5 would be much appreciated. Reproducible: Always
@ikelos: interested?
Not for the main tree, I was just interested in seeing what it could do (and haven't touched it in years, which is why it's still on 1.3.2). I'll try and bump it in my overlay in the next few days.
Ok, this is bumped in my overlay, please let me know here if there are any problems with it. I do not intend to move this to the main tree, or support it fulltime, so I'm going to leave the bug open and assigned to maintainer-wanted.
Luckily I have mathmap emerged in the past and it still works fine, but it fails to compile when I try emerging it again. I have gimp 2.7.3-r1 installed now, it is masked and perhaps it is related to this mathmap emerge fail: (...) mathmap.c: In function ‘mathmap_dialog’: mathmap.c:1828:3: warning: media-gfx/mathmap-1.3.5 was built with the following: USE="(multilib)" CFLAGS="-O2 -Wall" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -Wall"
This happens with gimp-2.6.11-r6, so my guess is this is an issue with libpng14 vs libpng15. Upstream's latest version still appears to be 1.3.5, and therefore without patches for libpng15. I managed to dig the following patch from the Fedora build system, but unfortunately, it seems not to make any difference to the build. I've committed it, so you can give it a try, do let me know if it works for you. If it doesn't then I'm out of ideas, you could try contacting the mathmap authors and asking them to produce a patch/updated release...
Sorry, in case it helps, here's where the patch came from: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.redhat.fedora.extras.cvs/685669/match=mathmap
"I managed to dig the following patch (...) I've committed it, so you can give it a try" Sorry, where do I find it? Official portage tree?
No, it's a completely unsupported ebuild still (as mentioned in comment 2), so you'll still find it in the ikelos overlay I'm afraid. As I say, I doubt it'll have any effect on your ability to compile it...
I just ran eix-sync && emerge mathmap and sadly it still fails with the same error.
P.S. I have media-libs/libpng 1.2.46, 1.4.8-r2 and 1.5.7 installed.
I've tried libpng-1.2.47, 1.2.49, 1.5.8 and 1.5.10, same problem with all. I've also tried sed'ing the same as in your patch to a git clone of mathmap, compilation fails with the same error. I've messaged the mathmap Google Group and will email Mark directly.
Mark kindly fixed the issue upstream, updated rwimg, the git version compiles now with libpng-1.5.
Bump
FYI, mathmap from git still builds, installs and works with Gimp from git correctly.
