This is basically the same issue as https://bugs.gentoo.org/349113 Currently we can't compile recent kernel versions for bigger HPPA machines (i.e. those that need a 64 bit kernel) because there is no compiler available that has the fix for gcc PR PR46915 and will not crash once swap is used. The fix already went into the patchsets for the normal gcc (but there is still no fixed 4.4 version in portage). The 4.5.2 ebuild also contains the fix. What is still missing is a patched version of kgcc64 so we could get e.g. the C8000 series machines to work. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
gcc-4.5.2 should be a good option
I'll try to push these out this week. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 291990 ***
