Description Kevyn Shortell (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-12-09 00:43:45 UTC
emerge rsync'd than ran emerge -up world.

saraphane portage # emerge -up world

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating world dependencies ...done!
[ebuild N saraphane portage

The only issue with that is, I have -r4 installed.

#emerge -s nvidia-kernel

For clarification, my issue is it is wanting to downgrade an ebuild that is installed on my box, but it's tagging it as N(ew).
Comment 2 Nicholas Jones (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-12-09 07:31:57 UTC
No a bug. Kernel modules get special kernel-name slots and therefore
each one is new when installed for a particular kernel.

Not anything I can do about this one. Dynamic slots cannot
be determined before the package is merged.
