Description Antonis Konstantinos Tzorvas 2011-01-28 21:59:24 UTC
Hi there, i would like to know if is out there anyone interested for MeeGo Development from inside of a Gentoo Workstation.

If there is no-one available to make an ebuild for that, i would like to have some tips for how to create the ebuild alone

what is needed for that?

to make an ebuild that will compile all 'MeeGo SDK components' (from http://meego.com/downloads/releases/1.1/meego-v1.1-sdk) and their dependencies, so we/i could have a fully working MeeGo development environment inside Gentoo?

Thanks for your help, have a nice rest of your day/night.

It is highly unlikely to create an ebuild for the SDK. There are some components on qting-edge overlay but Nokia does not provide any packages yet ( everything is located on git repositories ) so we can't really do much here. I would advice you do download the SDK and install it on your $HOME. As far as I know at least qt-simulator does not build at all and it seems to me that it is broken by design. If you care enough, you can try to build them and report problems on Nokia's bugzilla.

However, I think that there is a reason that they do not ship any tarballs yet. There is minimum activity on the upstream git repositories so I am not really confident that they will release something in the near future.

Anyway, lets keep this bug as a reference

The qt team is not interested in maintaining this package. All existing (half-broken) ebuilds have been removed from the qt overlay.
You're advised to download upstream SDK package for linux and install it in your home dir.
