Description Svante 2011-01-13 02:14:21 UTC
When trying to emerge sci-chemistry/platon, I get a fetch restriction, but the name I have to give to the downloaded file is not displayed. I tried to name it "platon-20101125.tar.gz", "platon.tar.gz" and "platon-20101125.tgz", but it did not find it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download platon.tar.gz to /usr/portage/distfiles/platon-20101125.tar.gz or ...tgz
2. emerge platon

Actual Results:
 * Messages for package sci-chemistry/platon-20101125:

 * Fetch failed for 'sci-chemistry/platon-20101125', Log file:
 *  '/var/tmp/portage/sci-chemistry/platon-20101125/temp/build.log'
 * Download  from ftp://xraysoft.chem.uu.nl/pub/unix/,
 * rename it to and place it
 * in /usr/portage/distfiles.
 * If there is a digest mismatch, please file a bug
 * at https://bugs.gentoo.org/ -- a version bump
 * is probably required.

Note the empty space after "Download" and "rename it to".

Expected Results:
Either install directly or tell me what the file should be named.

It seems that some variables are not set up properly for this ebuild script. Other emerges with fetch restrictions work (I installed shelx today).

Comment 1 Justin Lecher (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-01-17 18:34:24 UTC
I have verified this behaviour for 2.2_alpha15 and several other fetch restricted packages.

Code is:

pkg_nofetch() {
   elog "Download ${A/-${PV}} from ftp://xraysoft.chem.uu.nl/pub/unix/,"
   elog "rename it to ${A} and place it"
   elog "in ${DISTDIR}."
   elog "If there is a digest mismatch, please file a bug"
   elog "at https://bugs.gentoo.org/ -- a version bump"
   elog "is probably required."
}

result is

 * Download  from ftp://xraysoft.chem.uu.nl/pub/unix/,
 * rename it to and place it
 * in /usr/portage/distfiles.
 * If there is a digest mismatch, please file a bug
 * at https://bugs.gentoo.org/ -- a version bump
 * is probably required.

platon-20101125.tar.gz
Comment 4 Zac Medico gentoo-dev 2011-01-18 01:28:53 UTC
This is fixed in 2.1.9.32 and 2.2.0_alpha16.
Comment 5 Zac Medico gentoo-dev 2011-01-18 01:42:15 UTC
There's one more fix here that I missed in the earlier patch:

http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitweb/?p=proj/portage.git;a=commit;h=4323bee2450b6635b2fd3129c15b6060d61a25b6
Comment 6 Zac Medico gentoo-dev 2011-01-18 02:13:32 UTC
This is fixed in 2.1.9.33 and 2.2.0_alpha17.
