Hi At Kde startup, screen from blue turns to pink and then, with a variable delay, the computer turns irresponsive. Looking at /var/log/messages and Xorg.0.log, it seems the irresponsiveness comes from the 3 last lines (second block) of the traces below been repeated at high frequency. I tried launching Kde in a second X via Xephyr, it works OK. But I had to had -nodri to Xephyr launching, because of bug http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=349323 so this success is only ... relative. Does this happen with compositing disabled too? Can you attach dmesg output?
After digging emerge.log, I think it started after upgrade of Qt to 4.7.0-r1. Gonna try without the line to load "dri" in xorg.conf

You are using radeonfb. This does not work with modern X. Disable radeonfb in your kernel.

The (I believe) good news is that when just adding video=vesafb or video=radeonfb:off, it seems to work.
