Description Rolf Eike Beer archtester 2010-12-25 16:38:24 UTC
This is a copy of bug #349113 just for the 4.4 branch. Although it is quite similar, it has some differences:

-hppa currently uses 4.4.4 as the stable gcc (and kgcc64) which is broken
-there is currently no upstream gcc version that is not in portage where this could be appended to
-the 4.5 patch does not cleanly apply to 4.5 as comment #3 on the other bug says

The impact of that bug is quite severe, kernel compilation works but gives wrong results. The known impact is broken swap, other issues may also be present. Every project that uses inline assembler on HPPA must be considered broken. Please push the patch into a 4.4.5-r1 and a corresponding kgcc64 ASAP.
