The latest version of bitlbee marked stable for x86 is 1.2.3-r1. This is very old. As IM protocols tend to mutate, this means that (at the very least) MSN no longer works with current MSN servers. The new version, 3.0.1, by contrast, works very nicely indeed on my otherwise stable x86 box. So it'd be great if it could be stabilised.
*bitlbee-3.0.1 (25 Nov 2010) It is way too soon to do that. You need to wait at least until the 25th of December

It has now been a reasonable time since 3.0.1 has been in Gentoo. Happily there are no open bugs against it, so it would be nice to see it stabilised. As I mentioned in my initial comment, stabilisation of this version is particularly useful as at least the MSN protocol no longer connects with the 1.2.3-r1.
Sounds good. Thanks for reminding us! Arches, please test and stabilize =net-im/bitlbee-3.0.1 Thank you and happy new year :)

ppc stable
Tested on x86, all good here.
The LDFLAGS bug (347537) blocks this one so I would advice you to not mark it stable yet...
alpha/ia64/sparc keywords dropped
amd64 done
@x86: David tested the package, can you please mark it stable? thanks :)

Failing USE Combinations are evil because (among other things) they make automated testing a pain. Please fix in the next ebuild revision: * You *must* enable one or more of the following USE flags: * jabber msn oscar twitter yahoo purple * * You can do this by enabling these flags in /etc/portage/package.use: * =net-im/bitlbee-3.0.1 jabber msn oscar twitter yahoo purple As per http://devmanual.gentoo.org/general-concepts/use-flags/index.html *you* must enable one of the USE-flag :) x86 stable. Thanks everyone. Closing.

Thanks for finally getting this stabilized on x86. :)
Next version will be EAPI 4 ;)
