Description Ben Kohler gentoo-dev 2010-10-27 17:39:49 UTC
The 40% default memory limit in xz-utils has been removed for the 5.0.0 release. The change is mentioned in the upstream release notes here: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_name=201010242244.43286.lasse.collin%40tukaani.org .

This means the XZ_OPTS="--memory=max" line in profiles/base/make.defaults (added per bug 303975) is no longer needed. Well, it won't be needed once app-arch/xz-utils-5.0.0 goes stable, anyway.

Reproducible: Always

Yep, let's keep this open until 5.0.0 goes stable.

It's on track for stabilizaton in bug 355649.

xz-5.0.1 is now stable everywhere, so:
