Arc was a dev candidate back when kloeri left Gentoo and was lost in that action. has a strong desire to join for python as he's active with the Python Software Foundation, and representing them at the GSoC 2010 mentor summit. I will be his primary mentor, with bicatali as the backup.
I will be your recruiter. Please send your updated quizzes to recruiters@gentoo.org when you are finished reviewing them with Robin. Once that is done I will do your review live somewhere in the Googleplex either tonight or tomorrow. Please also send a tarball containing some of or all your most significant gentoo related work (typically ebuilds or an overlay). If there are any gentoo bugs where you have done significant work we would be interested in that, so feel free to list them too in the same email. Also bicatali, as a member of the python team (since I believe there is no lead), has approved you verbally but I would very much like to see this in writing here. Denis.
I just want to quickly clarify why Arc is short circuiting the recruiting queue. Arc was in recruitment about 3 years ago with kloeri. He has experience with ebuild development and has recently worked again with the python team on irc. When kloeri left his recruitment was cancelled. Arc then tried to find another mentor but wasn't really lucky with that. Also, both Arc and I are physically at the same location for the whole weekend. So I will do his review live which is going to be way faster than doing it over irc. Denis.
Arc would be a great addition to the Gentoo Python herd!
So, we opened a new dev bug because Arc didn't remember if he had one and Robin couldn't find any. I was of the opinion that if Robin couldn't find it then it didn't exist. Well, it does exist and it's bug #136364. Just saying. Denis.
