THe xbase IUSE flags for debug/static don't appear to do anything at all; 
side note, I haven't gotten a chance to test it yet, but fairly sure xbase is dependent on DB(3|4)- that is the main use of xbase.
Either way, I'll try it out later tonight for testing.

I'm not sure, but isn't Berkeley DB something different than dBase/Foxpro?
About the other flags: Just drop them. :)

This bug is here since last november, should be at least viewed. Why it wasn't resolved? It also blocks rekall ebuild.
