Description Andreas Sturmlechner gentoo-dev 2010-09-29 20:54:07 UTC
Just stumbled over the following thread in fgo:

Using wicd in kde-4.5.1 myself, and looking at its rather... humble interface, though functional it may be, it would be nice to have a better integrating alternative. Last time I checked, knetworkmanager wasn't anywhere near bearable.

Success! Thank you very much. ;)
Comment 4 Robin Bankhead 2010-10-22 11:47:33 UTC
Builds and runs successfully for me on kde-4.5.2, but I have noticed that the "Wired network autoconnect" choice of "prompt for wired network profile" does not seem to work. I configured a couple of different wired profiles, and set the preference to switch to one automatically if connected. However there's no prompt - it just connects using the last-used profile.

Comment 5 Dmitri 2010-11-08 05:10:56 UTC
would it be reasonable to add another use flag for wicd such as "kde" and include this code upon enabling kde client for wicd?
Comment 6 Andreas K. Hüttel gentoo-dev 2010-11-11 23:13:29 UTC
Please test the 0.2.1 ebuild in the kde overlay... if it works fine I'll move it to the tree soon-ish
Comment 7 Mark Kowarsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-11-12 10:36:23 UTC
Works fine for me.
Comment 8 Andreas Sturmlechner gentoo-dev 2010-11-12 10:59:33 UTC

Confirmed, works fine here on ~amd64.
Comment 9 Andreas K. Hüttel gentoo-dev 2010-11-12 22:16:28 UTC
In tree - thank you!
