I tried just reving the ebuild up to the new version, but that didn't work. It requres media-libs/mlt-0.5.10, which doesn't seem to be in portage.

CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:21 (message):
  MLT must be at least version 0.5.10, you have 0.5.4

  Please install recent MLT http://www.mltframework.org

OK, this should be easy to do...

Copied mlt-0.5.4 from portage into overlay and renaming it mlt-0.5.10 and it installs fine. Then copied existing kdenlive from portage into overlay and renamed it and adjust the dependency for new mlt and it also installs fine.

Will attach both ebuilds shortly.

These ebuild work for me, too. But to emerge mlt I had first to copy patch to overlay (not sure if really needed):

cp /usr/portage/media-libs/mlt/files/mlt-0.5.4-asneeded.patch $MYOVERLAY/media-libs/mlt/files/mlt-0.5.10-asneeded.patch

It works to me too, but I am not able to find the new SOP/Sat effects.

I don't know anything about those new SOP/Sat effects. Maybe it needs some new configure option to enable them or some other dependency that's not present at runtime to get those?

Oops i completely missed this bug.
Anyway fixed in main tree.
