been out since july Reproducible: Always
Created attachment 248195 [details] sample ebuild that doesn't work It doesn't work because the patches don't exist. if you comment out the patch files and use flags that the patches enable, it works pretty well for a vanilla install.
note on the ebuild: I put in EAPI=3 during some testing, but probably only 2 is actually required. I just forgot to change it back
Are there plans to get this version into portage?
So far there is no scheduled plans that I know of. I simply created this ebuild as a starting point. Also, I'm not sure if the patches that were used against the 1.6.18&19 ebuilds have been updated for 1.6.20
Just looked at the eggheads site again and it seems they are planning a 1.8 release soon. The 1.8 release seems to fix many of the problems that the old patches were there to fix such as SSL and UTF8 support http://trac.eggheads.org/roadmap
eggdrop-1.6.21 is out. seems to be the last one in the 1.6 series so should be in tree as long as there are no problems with it
I just committed eggdrop-1.6.21 to portage, thanks much to Adam's help. +*eggdrop-1.6.21 (31 Dec 2011) + + 31 Dec 2011; Nathan Phillip Brink <binki@gentoo.org> +eggdrop-1.6.21.ebuild: + Bump to eggdrop-1.6.21 (bug #338211) including fixes for LDFLAGS (bug + #335230) and most parallel make issues (bug #295302). Many thanks to Adam + (from Anope) for updating the patches tarball and the SSL patch and adding + fixes for bug #196337.
