kde-base/pykde4-4.4.5 will not emerge in combination with dev-python/sip-4.11, dev-python/PyQt4-4.7.5, and x11-libs/qt-core-4.6.3. This issue has been reproduced in two different ~amd64 installations within 24 hours by myself, though on the same hardware. Yesterday, gradually downgrading dev-python/sip to stable versions seemed to fix the issue but today that is no longer the case. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge kdebase-meta (or I suppose emerge --oneshot pykde4 works too) Actual Results: emerge gets to approximately 7% of the compile, then dies with an error complaining about sip. Expected Results: emerge successfully. I have tried down-throttling my CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS to -O1 instead of -O2, this did not work. Buildlog and emerge --info will be attached to the bug. Seems pretty important that this package merges, since amongst others kde-base/plasma-workspace depends on it.

"Workaround" was removing the python USE-flag from kde-base/plasma-workspace through /etc/portage/package.use, this causes emerge kdebase-meta to skip pykde4 until it has stopped breaking I suppose. This might also be related to bug http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=332503 so I am going to resolve and mark as duplicate of that bug. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 332503 ***
