dev-python/reportlab should allow installation against media-fonts/dejavu and, then, should RDEPEND on virtual/ttf-fonts instead of media-fonts/ttf-bitstream-vera

To allow this, you can simply take a look on reportlab-2.3-font-locations.patch Fedora patch that allows its installation with dejavu:

In summary, you simply need to include more font paths in src/reportlab/rl_config.py
