Description Peter Simons 2003-11-14 17:03:29 UTC
The following packages install no SGML catalog at all:

   app-text/docbook-xml-simple-dtd-1.0
   app-text/docbook-xml-simple-dtd-4.1.2.4

and the following packages install an incorrect SGML DTD:

   app-text/html401-19991224-r1
   app-text/xhtml1-20020801-r1

"incorrect" in the sense that they do not specify the necessary declarations in
a way opensp would handle; DTDDECL is the way to go here.

I'll attach the necessary "diff" to patch /etc/sgml to fix all this.

Reproducible: Always

Does anyone have any intention of doing something about this? Or should I close the bug report? I'm not sure the diffs I sent do even still apply to the current versions. :-(

Peter, I'm not sure why this bug hasn't been looked at. I hope to look at it in the next week. Sorry for the delay.
Comment 4 Peter Simons 2004-06-18 02:36:36 UTC
That would be great. I have just updated the DTDs via Portage, and the package actually overwrote my configuration (with a broken one). Shouldn't changes in /etc/sgml be subject of config file protection?

Is there any chance that something will happen with those patches? It's been almost a YEAR, you know?
Comment 6 Mamoru KOMACHI (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-06 06:21:09 UTC
Sorry for the delay.... I modified them to use sgml-catalog.eclass,
so it should be fixed now. I don't know whether we should keep
docbook-xml-simple-dtd-4.1.2.4 (it's not the latest, and it is
assumed as newer than 1.0), but that is another thing we should
discuss.
