Why doesn't gentoo synaptics drivers allow "orientation" parameter? You need it to rotate you mouse together with screen so that you can use your 7'' 800x480 device as 480x800 to read ebooks but also to access some hidden menus that use 600 or 768 as minimum hard-coded height. Ubuntu already has that patch from a long time. X.org decided not to include it for some reason. I've found a working patch for latest 1.2.2
