Description Louis-Philippe 2010-07-31 16:19:24 UTC
With app-misc/ca-certificates-20090709, all my WCG project can't be done. I had to mask this version and downgrade to app-misc/ca-certificates-20080809.

It might be related to WGC (www.worldcommunitygrid.com).
But just downgrade this package fixed everything.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -av app-misc/ca-certificates-20090709
2. /etc/init.d/boinc start

Actual Results:
31-Jul-2010 07:47:16 [http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/] Scheduler request failed: Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with known CA certificates
31-Jul-2010 07:52:12 [http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/] Sending scheduler request: Project initialization.
31-Jul-2010 07:52:12 [http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/] Requesting new tasks
31-Jul-2010 07:52:16 [---] Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
31-Jul-2010 07:52:18 [http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/] Scheduler request failed: Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with known CA certificates
31-Jul-2010 07:52:20 [---] Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.

Expected Results:
Request work from WCG can't be done

Those are the version installed on my system:
POK9 ~ # emerge -av boinc curl

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

1. Bugzilla is NOT the correct product. Please read the description next time.
2. After you upgraded to 20090709, did you run the update-ca-certificates?
3. Please link to what certificate WCG is expecting/providing, so it can be verified against ca-certificates.
Comment 5 Robin Johnson archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2010-08-03 01:44:50 UTC
User reports that running update-ca-certificates as directed by the elog/einfo output resolves the problem.
