A few days ago I did an "emerge --depclean". Since I do not use KDE as a desktop environment I allowed depclean to uninstalled all proposed kde related builds. Today I started kile and all Icons where missing. I first tried just to install kde-base/kdebase-menu-icons. But that didn't solve the problem. Then I installed kde-base/kdebase-runtime-meta and kile is working normal again, including icons. I don't know which packages that are pulled in by kde-base/kdebase-runtime-meta kile really needs but using kde-base/kdebase-runtime-meta seemd the easiest solution to me. Please add kde-base/kdebase-runtime-meta as a dependency or at least those builds kile needs for propper usage, including icons. Reproducible: Always
nope, depending on a -meta package is wrong. need specific package to depend on, perhaps kdebase-data? you need to do more investigating.
kdebase-data worked. At least for the icons. I do not know at the moment if there are other issues. By the way, the same error applies to okular. I will open a new bug report for okular. Fixed in the kde overlay 9999 version for future bumps.
