Description Hanno Böck gentoo-dev 2010-06-30 23:56:59 UTC
It seems for some unknown reason, it adds a multiline string to the makefile without \ at the line ends. This seems to happen on autoreconf with latest autoconf versions.

Can you post your ´emerge --info´ and the output of ´eix -cI auto´?
I can't reproduce it in a x86 system with everything up to date.

Comment 6 Cyprien Nicolas (fulax) 2010-09-17 05:10:52 UTC
Hi Hanno,

I cannot reproduce this failure, using almost the same config:

Portage 2.2_rc83 (default/linux/amd64/10.0/desktop, gcc-4.5.0, glibc-2.11.2-r0, 2.6.34-gentoo-r6 x86_64)

$ eix -Ic auto
[I] app-emacs/autoconf-mode (2.65@10/06/10): Emacs major modes for editing autoconf and autotest input
[I] dev-util/automoc (0.9.88@13/07/10): KDE Meta Object Compiler
[I] net-fs/autofs (5.0.4-r5@30/08/10): Kernel based automounter
[I] sys-devel/autoconf (2.13(2.1)@05/03/10 2.65-r1(2.5)@15/09/10): Used to create autoconfiguration files
[I] sys-devel/autoconf-wrapper (8@07/06/10): wrapper for autoconf to manage multiple autoconf versions
[I] sys-devel/automake (1.9.6-r3(1.9)@19/04/10 1.10.3(1.10)@08/03/10 1.11.1(1.11)@27/08/10): Used to generate from
[I] sys-devel/automake-wrapper (4@19/04/10): wrapper for automake to manage multiple automake versions

Are you still encountering the failure nowadays?
Which USEs are you trying to build guile with?
Comment 7 Marijn Schouten (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-11-29 10:23:31 UTC
Please try with a newer revision and if it still fails, please specify use flags used.
Comment 8 Hanno Böck gentoo-dev 2010-11-29 15:11:50 UTC
I no longer see this issue. I think it is a dupe of #317175, thouhg not sure. Anyway, no issue any more, so I'm fine.
