xarthisius, are you taking over this package and fixing it? If not, I'm going to have treecleaner take care of removing it.

I am going to look into fixing this up some. I added myself as a maintainer when I fixed an unrelated issue earlier. As such, I'm going to assign this to myself for the meantime. Should I decide it isn't worth the effort or is broken beyond repair, I will reassign it to treecleaners and poke Ssuominen as he was the one who pointed me here.
hi, I replaced the gentoo paches with the patchset from Fedora Rawhide/15 (by Jochen Schmitt, I think he is the Fedora maintainer). the files are very old (>3 years) but steghide compiles and runs fine them (gcc-4.5.2)
CC treecleaners because this fails to build with gcc-4.5, and gcc-4.5 tracker is now closed. The time to fix the package is up. It's now targeted for removal as abandoned.
gone
steghide 0.5.1 builds fine with the gcc 4.5.3 and the ebuild found at http://sources.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/gentoo-x86/app-crypt/steghide/?diff_format=c&hideattic=0 if one use # CXXFLAGS=-std=c++0x emerge steghide I positively protest against the removal!
Please check the title and refrain from posting to closed bugs. The package was removed back in August
