Severity should probably be bumped up a notch... wine is broken if you build it with libpng-1.4 installed. libpng warning: Application was compiled with png.h from libpng-1.4.2 libpng warning: Application is running with png.c from libpng-1.2.40 libpng error: Incompatible libpng version in application and library and rendering problems ensue. Workaround is to unmerge 1.4, install 1.2.43-r2, install wine, unmerge 1.2.43-r2, re-install 1.4: hardly a pleasant solution.
There is no need to change severity: 1. emul packages are oriented to be used with systems running "stable" 2. I am already aware of the problem, but I simply don't have much time just now (tip -> visit http://dev.gentoo.org/devaway/ when you think a bug is being forgotten ;-)) Sorry for the inconvenience, I will update it when I have enough time to update by chroot and migrate it properly to new libpng
