those two version of eagle are looking for freeware version of license in /opt/eagle-5.*.0/bin/eagle.key. Freeware license file that is installed by ebuild stands here /opt/eagle-5.9.0/bin/freeware.key Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.install eagle 5.8.0 or 5.9.0 2. run with license type freeware
I know the side pane says to see "freeware.key", but it's looking for "eagle.key". If you run it as root first and then as a normal user, try Help->Eagle License->Run as Freeware. It should tell you "Permission denied" to access /opt/eagle-5.9.0/bin/eagle.key. What is LINGUAS set to for you?
Funny, when i started it from root, it crated eagle key, and now from user it runs ok. Locale for me is english (default). Thx.
