My servers have been running the samba 3.3 branch. Recently, samba 3.3.10 was removed from portage without the next version being added. The samba site lists 3.3.12 as the current version in the 3.3 branch. I have been trying to find some announcement about why there is no longer a 3.3.x version in portage and what the suggestion is for people who were using it. I need at least 3.3 to make our system work with win7. I would happily upgrade to 3.4 or above, but I can't find any information on the consequences and/or compatibility of the switch. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try to install the latest samba 3.3.x from portage. Actual Results: No 3.3.x version of samba to install from portage. Expected Results: samba 3.3.12 being in portage ready to install. :) I'm concerned about breaking a production system that is acting as a PDC for our windows domain. I can't find information about changing from 3.3 to 3.4 or above and what needs to be done.
