Could you please provided us with the following information about your mirror:

    * Official mirror name (preferably not your hostname, but the name of your organization)
    * Mirror type: distfiles/releases, gentoo-portage. NOTE: gentoo-portage is always rsync only. Some mirrors may have rsync for distfiles as well. Do not be confused by the difference!
    * URLs: full protocol and path for release/distfile mirrors, hostname or IP for gentoo-portage mirrors
    * Hardware specifications
    * Bandwidth specifications (transfer speed, eg 100Mbit, and any limits you may have)
    * Location
    * Intended concurrent users (for each protocol, mirror type)
    * Admin contact name and email address (This address should be registered in bugzilla so we can CC you to any bug reports)

Also, please make sure you read the policy documents for the different types of mirrors we have:

    * Distfiles: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/source_mirrors.xml
    * gentoo-portage: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/rsync.xml

You are only syncing once a day? You are supposed to be syncing every 4 hours, starting at midnight local time. Please make this adjustment and let us know when its done. I'll add you to our testing system after that.

Thanks,

Mark

I have added you into our testing system. We'll monitor the mirror for the next 2 weeks, and if everything looks good, the mirror will be added as an official one.

It looks like you are about 9 hours out of sync right now. Could you please make sure everything is working correctly on your side?

Thanks,

Mark

Really? Our log show the last successful update is ending at 2010-04-08 09:00 GMT+8, it is about 3 hours ago.

Looks back in sync now, probably just a random failure.
Comment 9 Mark Loeser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-04-09 19:11:32 UTC
As of Fri Apr 9 19:10:49 UTC 2010, it looks like your last sync was 8 hours ago. Which source mirror are you syncing from?

Our log still show nothing wrong....
We sync from gentoo.chem.wisc.edu
Comment 11 Mark Loeser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-04-10 14:36:52 UTC
That would be why. Please sync from: ftp.ussg.iu.edu::gentoo-distfiles.

Please make sure you have read http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/source_mirrors.xml and have everything set up correctly.

Thanks,

Mark

Thanks for helping out Gentoo. I have added your mirror to our list at http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors2.xml. Please start syncing from masterdistfiles.gentoo.org as the email I have sent to you instructs. We would like you to subscribe to the gentoo-mirrors Mailing List by sending an email to gentoo-mirrors+subscribe@lists.gentoo.org, as we send out notifications of updates, releases, and changes in policy to the mirrors. Please also monitor http://mirrorstats.gentoo.org as this application is used to keep track of the up-to-date nature of our mirrors. Thanks for the hardware and bandwidth!
