It's been in the tree long enough and fixes some bugs. Do mind that some (many?) tests may fail when OS features required for those tests are missing, because by upstream design they do not first check for those features in order to decide whether to run them. So please test (carefully) and mark stable: =net-misc/socat-1.7.1.2
Stable for HPPA.

Upstream's test failures are well recorded in our bug tracker and this shouldn't be anything new.
