Description Paulo da Silva 2010-03-29 17:32:28 UTC
When copying/pasting large amount of data in gnumeric (didn't test on other applications):
1. Clicking on the small icon (systray) causes bad or no display at all and sometimes crashes klipper.
2. Sometimes klipper takes all cpu starting during the paste but keeping on after the paste is complete. Usually only one of the cpus is being used when pasting, but when this situation occurs both cpus are 100% used. After the paste only one of them continues being 100% used. Need to kill and restart it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Copy/paste a large amount of data (gnumeric in my case A1:M34400)
2. Click on the small icon. (not necessary for the 100% cpu use)

Actual Results:
Klipper does not correctly display its window. Sometimes crash.

The 100% cpu situation does not always occur. In fact it is relatively infrequent.

I don't know when it began, but now, after copy, klipper always begin to use 100% CPU!
Unfortunately I tried to build a test from scratch, filling a large area with random numbers and copying it to another empty book and could not verify the cpu problem. Only the display one.

Probably an upstream issue.

I cant reproduce this.
Comment 4 dE 2010-08-29 15:33:38 UTC
Oook... now I know how this is related to me.

My problem resolves after I remove the copy paste notification in the notification area.

is this still valid with kde 4.5.4?

I am still using kde 4.4.5.
The problem with klipper seems fixed. The last symptom I experienced was with gnumeric crashing if I do not wait a few seconds between the copy an the paste. This seems also to have been fixed with last gnumeric version. I am not sure here however. I tend to wait after the copy when I am doing serious work.

OK, resolving then. If you disagree, please reopen or make a new bug.
