Version 4.1 of Spread was released 18th June 2009, a version bump would be appreciated. From the changelog; "It also includes the usual collection of bug fixes. Details of the new capabilities can be found in the Readme.txt file included in the distribution. This release does not have any visible API changes, so not applications should require code changes to support this release. Applications linked with the 4.0 libspread libraries should continue to work. However, we recommend relinking against the new library as it fixes some known bugs." Reproducible: Always
I've just noticed that bug #277241 ([patch] net-misc/spread-4.0.0 does not cross compile) also includes an ebuild for spread-4.1.0 It works for me, and as it fixes the cross compilation and cflag issues, so it could be a good one to use.
Toby, if I'm not mistaken this package is currently in need for a maintainer. Please consider maintaining this package yourself, either by being proxied by an existing Gentoo dev (you produce, the proxy reviews and commits for you) or by joining Gentoo as a developer.
I added 4.1.0 to the tree. Please test and open a new bug if any problems arise.
