It fails for me too, but mod_ruby 1.3.0 seems to be fine. Please try that and provide feedback on the bug. If this works fine then we should file a stabilization bug for 1.3.0 and remove 1.2.6 from the tree.

I have also tried to emerge v. 1.3.0 and it has passed the compilation/installation. So it looks ok now.
