Description Joseph Nievelt 2003-10-12 15:34:13 UTC
I emerged unreal-tournament-goty-451 and unreal-tournament-bonuspacks-436
earlier today and everything went well. Now, when I emerge -uDp world, it wants
to install the regular unreal-tournament-451. emerge -up works as expected.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge unreal-tournament-goty unreal-tournament-bonuspacks
2. emerge -uDp unreal-tournament-bonuspacks

Actual Results:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild N ] games-fps/unreal-tournament-451

Expected Results:
there should be nothing to merge

what does `qpkg -I -v unreal` show you ?
Comment 2 Joseph Nievelt 2003-10-12 16:14:36 UTC
 qpkg -I -v unreal
games-fps/unreal-tournament-goty-451 *
games-fps/unreal-tournament-bonuspacks-436 *
Comment 3 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2003-10-15 13:21:32 UTC
do you have any unreal entries in /var/cache/edb/virtuals ?
Comment 4 ferret 2003-10-30 18:21:56 UTC
Well, I have the same problem, so I'll take over. :)

Same so far... and no, no enttries in the virtual file.

the only way to get rid of the problem I could find was to remove the
unreal-tournament-goty entry from the world file. emerge --inject'ing
didn't work as it caused a Blocker on emerge -uDp world instead.
Comment 5 Munir Nassar 2003-11-15 07:02:14 UTC
unreal-tournament-goty should block unreal-tournament-bonuspacks. GOTY already includes the bonus packs.

there is nothing wrong with the bonus packs requiring unreal-tournament-451.

to FIX this: edit /var/cache/edb/world and remove the unreal-tournament-bonuspacks entry.

Comment 6 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2003-11-15 22:17:47 UTC
should be fixed with next portage release
