The 4.2.11 versions are the "previous stable" on the Shorewall homepage by now (with 4.4.7 being the new stable release). Both the shell and the perl varieties are supported in this branch so no functionality regressions are expected for users. These ebuilds have been in the tree since October 2009 with no significant bugs reported against them. Once this is out of the way, development work can start in earnest for the 4.4 branch so it can be unmasked.
