I'm currently working on a VPN howto. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
VPN using what software? openvpn?
Any word on this?
I currently have nowhere near enough time to start with the guide. I made a beginning but lost it in a hd crash (tnx again WD).
Marking this one as later...
Created attachment 29260 [details] First draft This is just a draft, put it here just to let you know i'm on it.
You need to add the route commands on both sides, so the routers know to send trafic for the other subnet through the tunnel.

Blubber's out. Perhaps someone else can take on this bug?
http://www.gentoo.org/news/en/gwn/20041011-newsletter.xml#doc_chap7 I talked to Marc, he wrote a little OpenVPN HowTo for the GWN and will have a look at this bug.
Any news on Marc? Otherwise I'll mark this one as LATER.
Hi! Still had not enought time to work on it yet. Hopefully I manage to write a bit over the holidays and in the first week of January.
Might I propose that we write on OpenVPN and something like StrongSWAN/OpenSWAN ? It almost might be interesting to jam this into the security guide if I could manage to organize it all into a handbook..
I'm timing out this bug. If someone wants to start writing such a guide, be my guest, just comment and we'll reopen. But make sure you're starting it :p
I'm starting it, just give me a while to figure out how to use openvpn and *swan :)
There are some nice guides at the gentoo wiki. If you figure out how to make windows connect to openswan (L2TP), please tell. I have set up PPTP, if you need any help with that part of the guide, then send me an email. We would need 3 sections: *Swan PPTP OpenVPN
Is someone still working on this? I was considering writing a howto on connecting to a vpn using vpnc, and related topics.

Reopening to get this properly fixed.
Fixed in CVS, see bug 97760.
