when trying to rotate a JPEG file ([] keys) i do get an error: Could not perform the operation Error interpreting JPEG image Bogus virtual array access. This version of gthumb seems to break a lot features :-(
Can you attach offending image? What jpeg version do you have installed? Did you followed instructions when update from jpeg-7 to 8? Have you tried with media-libs/jpeg-8a?

Have you tried with > media-libs/jpeg-8a? > Using jpeg-8. Followed all instructions when ugrading from jpeg-7. Image is any from my Casio EX-Z100. I'm not quite sure if the jpeg-8 upgrade broke this, or the recent gthumb upgrade, I'll downgrade gthumb this weekend to see if this works with the previous version of gthumb.
I am unable to reproduce with my jpg files :-|
Created attachment 223435 [details] sample image that generates error message when trying to rotate not very sharp, but only an example ;-)
Downgraded to gtumb-2.10.11. Slideshow present, Jpeg rotation produces no error, but does'nt change the image - very strange, nevertheless preview in rotating dialog works.
Thanks, I am also able to reproduce ;-) Reported upstream: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=612809
