This might be a problem with the jadetex install. Can you save the old package with quickpkg for further investigation, and then try re-emerging jadetex?

If the binary .tbz2 package is not too large, please attach to this bug. Else extract /usr/share/texmf/web2c/pdfjadetex.fmt from the archive and attach here.

should be fixed by jadetex-3.13-r3; i'm surprised you're the first one hitting this because the packaging was rather old school
