Description Leeman Strout 2010-02-24 20:51:27 UTC
When using certain "special" keys nxserver behaves as though the key is being held down from that point forward. Other special keys also act strangely.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.connect to nxserver via nxclient-free or the windows nxclient
2.send 1 "special" key press (envelope button on my Dell KB with Xmodmap keycode 163 = XF86Mail)
3.see that the expected action didn't happen (it's bound to raise my thunderbird)
4.send same keypress 2nd time, see expected result (thunderbird pops up)

Actual Results:
some keys require 2 presses to actually activate, others cause some key to stick

Expected Results:
normal keyboard functioning

Win-F1 is bound to minimize a window (using fvwm) using it once works, however from that point forward, the Win key is stuck down. Ctrl-Alt-M to minimize nxclient and then making it the active window again clears the Win key sticky.

Interesting this cropped up immediately after this one went away:

Comment 2 Leeman Strout 2010-03-09 23:31:38 UTC
After additional testing, changing from nxserver-freeedition-3.4.0.12 to: nxnode-3.4.0.11

moving back to nxnode-3.4.0.6-r1 removes the strange ctrl-F1 and "Mail key" behaviour

Here;s the --info for 3.4.0.6-r1 (if you need 3.4.0.11, let me know, but it should be the same)

Comment 3 Thomas Sachau gentoo-dev 2010-03-12 15:07:50 UTC
I suggest, you cleanup your system (like having both amd64 and x86 keywords is not suppored)
Comment 4 Bernard Cafarelli gentoo-dev 2010-03-15 11:50:31 UTC
Thanks for the report!

So nxnode has the same problem as latest net-misc/nx (quite coherent as it's the same source code) in bug #304743. To make tracking easier I'll merge the two bugs
