When a KDE4 application (ie. k3b, dolphin) is maximized and then closed. The next time it is opened it will be maximized without any window borders. It will therefore be unsizable and unmovable. Will then have to switch back to kwin or any other window manager to get the border back and then unmaximize the window so it will have borders again in compiz with emerald. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open kde4 application 2. Maximize application 3. Close application 4. Re-open application 5. Application will have no borders Actual Results: Application remains maximized with no borders and can not be unmaximized or resized. Have to close application from the file menu of application or kill it. Expected Results: It should retain its window borders in a maximized state. i can confirm this bug. pretty annoying
Again, this is still going on. Why is no one looking into this? This problem does not exist on other distros with the same versions of kde and compiz.
Problem is gone if I deactivate "legacy_fullscreen" in ccsm (to be found in workaround-plugin, first option). For I have never tried that setting on another distribution, not sure whether this might be a bug in Compiz.
It's definitely compiz bug. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/324232 for more details about this bug.
