Description Michele Noberasco (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-10-07 08:07:41 UTC
bozohttpd is a small, fast and secure http version 1.1 server. it's main feature is the lack of features, reducing the code size and improving verifiability.
Has support for cgi scripts. It is mono-thread and uses non-blocking sockets.

Attached tarball contains ebuild and digests, plus init script, conf file and Makefile replacement (original Makefile works only bith BSD make). My ebuild is php aware, but can be extended to add support for other stuff, too...

I took inspiration from the apache ebuild...
I think this one should go to net-www, being a web server.

Definitely one for the web-apps herd to look at.

Hi,

Sorry - we can't accept your ebuild at the moment.

We can only accept ebuilds that the Gentoo developers can actively
support and maintain. Unfortunately, we currently don't have a Gentoo
developer who is willing to take on this ebuild.

If you really want to see your ebuild become part of Gentoo, then the
best way is to become a Gentoo volunteer yourself. You can volunteer
by sending an email to recruiters@gentoo.org, quoting this bug's
ID number as a reference.

Best regards,
Stu

I am a Gentoo developer now ;-)
I will take care of this one...

OK, I see that a new version of bozo is out,
so I'll start over with that and write a new ebuild
(old one wasn't so smart, expecially regarding
the default settings file)...

Welcome aboard!

Please make sure that you add a metadata.xml file, listing the herd as 'web-apps', and yourself as the primary maintainer.

Let me know when it's in Portage. I'd like to test it, and see how it compares to, say, cherokee.

Best regards,
Stu
