Description quazgar 2010-02-15 23:10:31 UTC
Please stabilize x11-libs/wxGTK-2.8.10.1-r5, since -r1 (the current latest stable version) fails to compile against jpeg-8, which has recently become stable (see also bug #301894).

-r5 compiles fine for me on my amd64 system.

Reproducible: Always

wow, no one does a tree rebuild anymore, they just mark shit stable.

arches, for your consideration:

app-admin/eselect-wxwidgets-1.3
x11-libs/wxGTK-2.6.4.0-r6
x11-libs/wxGTK-2.8.10.1-r5

it's about two weeks sooner than I was planning, but hey.

so it occurs to me, now that i've actually woken up, that there are no fixes for jpeg-8 in -r5, and that you probably unmasked glib or gtk+ which is causing your failure.

sorry arch teams, you still rock. keep up the good work.

This may be the cause indeed (I have gtk+-2.18.5 here), the problem just only showed up when I tried to recompile wxGTK with the last @preserved-rebuild (after jpeg-8, iirc).

This leads me to another related bug report, the one which actually fixed the occurring problem: bug #278778, I added that one as a dependency for this one.

I was repeating that argument in every duplicate that I've closed
(there were quite a few of them in recent weeks).
But marking those revs stable will solve this in permanent way.

Stable for HPPA and closing.
Comment 12 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-07-27 01:47:46 UTC
HPPA and X86 missed app-admin/eselect-wxwidgets-1.3, possibly because it wasn't obvious and because it wasn't mentioned in the Summary either. What a mess. Stable for HPPA.

No need.
